Career
Shane Warne revived legspin as a frontline weapon at a time when it was considered a luxury. His first delivery in Ashes cricket, which pitched outside leg stump and hit the top of off to dismiss Mike Gatting in 1993, remains the most replayed ball in the game's history.
He combined enormous side spin with control usually associated with finger spinners, and used flight, drift and an aura of imminent invention to keep batters guessing. He captained Rajasthan Royals to the inaugural IPL title in 2008 with a squad rated the weakest in the competition.
